Charities
Our mission statement is “To provide professional, memorable running events for both elite and recreational runners, to offer inspiration for young Irish athletes and build continuous support for our chosen charities”

To make sure we keep to our word we shall support the below charites by providing complimentary entries and ongoing marketing support.   We shall provide complimentary race entries to the below charities and we shall make a number of donations to local community groups that assist us in making this event happen.

In addition to our charity and local community support, we  have set up a fund with the Kildare County Board Athletics Association to develop young Kildare athletes so they can reach their true potential through coaching and development. We have donated €2000 to date and we shall continue our support in 2012. We hope our events inspire young athletes to become the long distance running champions of the future. Last year we also donated €1000 to The defence forces to assist their trip to Lourdes with some local unwell children .  The organisers of The Kildare Marathon are also the organisers of The Donadea 10K.  In the last 4 years €55,000 in cash donations have been given to locals Kildare charities and voluntary community organisations.

Please join us in supporting one of the below charities and contact them directly to request a sponsorship card.
Special Olympics Ireland
Special Olympics Ireland changes lives. It’s about fun, friendships and team spirit, it’s about a feeling of belonging, and it’s about working together. Special Olympics Ireland is first and foremost a sports organisation for people with an intellectual disability, but it provides athletes with far more than the physical benefits of sport. Special Olympics changes lives in so many different ways. Through sport, athletes develop both physically and emotionally, they make new friends, realise their dreams, and know they can fit in – Special Olympics enables them to achieve and win not only in sport but in life too.

Marie Keating Foundation
Following their mother Marie’s death in 1998 each member of the Keating family promised that they would do everything they could to bring an end to breast cancer.  They committed to provide all women and their families with the necessary information to prevent cancer or detect it at its earliest stages. Their collective aim was to “enlighten not frighten”. The Marie Keating Foundation is the realisation of a family’s dedication – it is a promise to themselves in action.  Through three mobile information units the Foundation’s dedicated nurses have enlightened almost 105,000 people of the causes and risk factors of breast and other cancers.  “Men Keeping Fit” is now a successful annual campaign and has significantly raised awareness among men of testicular and prostate cancer. The Foundation is committed to raising awareness among young people in schools of cancer and its prevention.  The Foundation provides its services free of charge.
