The Kildare Full Marathon starts at 8.00am on Sunday 13th May 2012. The Full Marathon is open to fast walkers, joggers, runners and wheelchair users. If you have trained for and can complete a full marathon in 6 hours or less (just over a 13 minute mile) this is the event for you.
The Full Marathon starts and finishes at The Curragh Racecourse and you will experience some of the best scenery that Kildare has to offer. Once you leave The Curragh Racecourse the course will take you through the Curragh plains and lead you towards Milltown, then onto Newbridge Town. After you pass through Newbridge you then continue on through some quaint Kildare villages then onto the outskirts of The Curragh once again.
The course then takes runners back to the beautiful landscape of the Curragh where you will pass by the famous Donnelly’s Hollow. After a further 3 miles in the Curragh you will meet up with the Half Marathon course and runners at mile 17 and both races will continue on and pass by some of the famous Stud Farms of the world for the last 9 miles.
The Full Marathon has a great atmosphere, supporters and locals will be encouraged to be at supporter zones evenly spread throughout the course. There will be stops that will provide water and other energy boosts stations.
